1. What We Collect

When you use Wane, we collect the following data:

• Account information: email address, display name, and authentication credentials (or Apple ID identifier).
• Biometric data: heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep metrics (duration, efficiency, stages), step count, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, body temperature, and recovery data synced from your connected wearables.
• Device information: push notification tokens and device platform (iOS/Android).
• Usage data: feature interactions and app session timing for improving the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Burnout risk monitoring: we analyze your biometric data using statistical methods to generate your daily Wane Score, a wellness indicator related to stress and recovery trends.
• AI Insights (Premium): for premium users, anonymized biometric summaries are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate personalized health insights. No raw data or identifying information is shared.
• Alerts: we use your data to detect concerning trends and send you timely notifications.
• Service improvement: aggregated, de-identified data may be used to improve our algorithms.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Supabase/PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3). Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-provided secure storage (Keychain on iOS).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal or health data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic: anonymized biometric summaries for AI insight generation (premium feature only).
• Infrastructure providers: hosting (Railway), database (Supabase), and push notifications (Expo) — all bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal obligations: if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data through the app at any time.
• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings in the app. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
• Disconnect wearable data sources at any time from your Profile.
• Control notification preferences per category (warnings, critical, positive, weekly reports).

6. Data Retention

We retain your biometric data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data, biometric records, burnout scores, alerts, and uploaded images are permanently deleted from our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Wane is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of Wane after changes constitutes acceptance.
